Herb Walk and Wild Plant Identification with Alla and Vanessa

At 4:00pm on Sunday July 11th, certified herbalists Alla Shapiro and Vanessa Tortolano will take us on an educational walk around F.H. King's student farm and Eagle Heights Community Garden to teach us about under-utilized plants, a.k.a. weeds, which grow all over the place... voluntarily! Alla and Vanessa will touch on traditional medicinal uses of these plants, wild edibles, and other uses. If you have ever wanted to know more about plant identification or how to use a plant to make a cup of healthful tea instead of adding to your compost pile, this is a perfect opportunity to do so and become more familiar with your environment.

*disclaimer: learning plant identification from experts is just one step in learning about uses for wild plants. It is necessary to consult multiple resources and to be confident about identification before consuming wild plants. If you are planning on using plants for medicinal purposes, you should consult your doctor first.
