FH King Contacts

Ali Loker - Administrative Director

Ali is a senior in the Community and Environmental Sociology department. She recently ignited her passion for farming through an internship at JenEhr family farm two summers ago, but has long been a proponent of local, organic food. She enjoys being outside, running and puns and feels very fortunate to be working alongside such talented, wonderful people at FH King!

Axel Adams - Garden Director

Axel Adams grew up between very rural Rio, WI and an off-the-grid cabin in northern Wisconsin. He began gardening at an early age, and became passionate about sustainable agriculture after reading Farmers of Forty Centuries and Nutrition and Physical Degeneration by Weston A. Price. Currently, Axel is an undergraduate student studying biology, and enjoys swimming, longboarding and funky muzak.

Colin Higgins - Outreach Coordinator

Colin is an undergraduate student studying Geography and International Studies.  He hails from the far west side of Madison, and became interested in sustainable agriculture by way of his parents, as well as Michael Pollan.  He started to question the food system after reading Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser, and has been active in trying to change the way people eat ever since.  He has worked on a couple organic farms in the US, and is always trying to do his part to advocate for sustainable agriculture.  When Colin is not gardening or in school he enjoys playing his guitar, doing pen and watercolor sketches, running, and spending time with family and friends.

Kassie Brown - Program Assistant

Kassie is a junior studying Community and Environmental Sociology. She grew up in suburbia and has only recently developed a passion for sustainable agriculture and environmental justice. After reading Jane Goodall’s A Harvest for Hope, Kassie recognized her own role in the movement to build a healthier and more compassionate ideology around food production, distribution, and consumption. This will be her first year working with FH King and she couldn’t be more honored to be a part of the organization.

Matt Covert - Garden Director

A graduate student in environmental studies and soon in urban planning as well, Matt came around to sustainable agriculture in the fall of 2009 by way of the rich local food scene in Madison. As he learned more about food; he decided to make food policy and planning the focus of his graduate studies. With a background in project planning and nonprofit operations, and a burning desire to become involved not only in producing it, Matt is thrilled to be working with such talented and passionate people at F.H. King! When not crouched over a diagram of the garden or in the garden itself, he enjoys cooking, skiing, rock climbing, biking and playing music.

Mel Ginther - Program Director

As a student of Interior Design and Environmental Studies, Mel is working to finish her 5th and final year at the UW and relies on the zest and fervor of her fellow FHKing-ers to keep her going.  She's been a member of this great organization for three years and has loved every moment of it.  When not dreaming of the farm she hopes to own or the circus she'd like to join, Mel can be found in the midst of dozens of art or food-related projects, flying on a trapeze, practicing acroyoga or wandering through the woods.

Parker Jones - Finance Director

Bio coming soon.
